Main tasks & responsibilities
- Translate complex business problems into analytical tasks and results back into business language.
- Develop solutions using mathematical optimization, including linear, nonlinear, and integer programming, as well as dynamic/stochastic programming.
- Build, develop, and deploy data science and optimization models in Python.
- Apply AI tooling throughout the development workflow, using sound judgement on where it adds value and where human review remains essential.
- Deploy and monitor live systems.
- Solve complex, high-impact business challenges through Decision Intelligence and AI-driven solutions.
- Collaborate effectively within fast-paced, international, cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Strong background in mathematical optimization (linear, nonlinear, integer programming), solvers, and algorithm design (dynamic/stochastic programming).
- 5+ years in data science and operations research, ideally in car rental, airlines, logistics, or similar capacity-planning-intensive sectors.
- Expertise in Python for modelling and production deployment, with version control, testing discipline, and the judgement to know when a model needs a regression baseline rather than another unit test.
- AI tooling experience in development workflow with sound judgement on where it adds value and where human review remains essential. Familiarity with spec-driven development is a plus.
- Rack record of deploying and monitoring live systems (AWS preferred). — a plus
