Main tasks & responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript.
- Architect and implement microservices-based systems with a focus on scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
- Develop and integrate event-driven architectures using Kafka for asynchronous communication and data streaming.
- Design and implement high-performance APIs and inter-service communication using gRPC.
- Build, deploy, and optimize cloud-native applications running on Kubernetes.
- Apply Hexagonal Architecture (Ports & Adapters) principles to create modular and testable systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, DevOps, QA, and Engineering to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Contribute to software architecture decisions, technical standards, and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to support engineering excellence.
- Explore and implement Agentic Engineering approaches, including AI-powered workflows, autonomous agents, and intelligent orchestration where applicable.
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure system reliability.
- Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, development workflows, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Full-Stack Development, with strong expertise in backend and frontend technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Proven experience designing and implementing Microservices Architectures.
- Solid experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven systems.
- Experience implementing services and APIs using gRPC.
- Strong experience with React and TypeScript for modern frontend development.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
- Strong understanding and practical application of Hexagonal Architecture.
- Experience working in agile environments and distributed teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- English proficiency: minimum C1 level.
- Based in Portugal or legally eligible to work in Portugal.
Nice to have
- Experience with Agentic Engineering, AI agents, or LLM-based systems.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., monitoring, logging, tracing).
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration best practices.
- Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and clean architecture principles.
- Previous experience in high-scale, distributed, or mission-critical systems.
- Experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical initiatives.
